Lincolnwood Village Board Approves the Framework of an Economic Incentive Package for the Developers of the Purple Hotel Site
At its meeting of July 15, the Lincolnwood Village Board approved the framework for an economic incentive package to help further the Village’s vision of a major and comprehensive redevelopment of the old Purple Hotel site. North Capital Group, the developer of the project, has proposed a mixed use development, to be called The Shoppes at Lincoln Pointe, consisting of a 160-room hotel, approximately 100,000 square feet of retail space, a 30,000 square foot grocery store, a health club and office space, all at the corner of Lincoln and Touhy Avenues. The total project is anticipated to consist of over 250,000 square feet of commercial space and cost approximately $125 million to construct. On Saturday, July 12 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Crawford Avenue will be closed southbound at Touhy Avenue and northbound at Pratt Avenue. The closures will occur while a water main is relocated at Lunt Avenue and Morse Avenue as part of the Crawford Avenue reconstruction project.
