The Lincoln Avenue Median Reconstruction Project will require rolling lane closures for the inside northwest and southeast lanes on Lincoln Avenue. Crews will need the space of the interior lanes to safely complete segments of their work and to stage equipment. Construction has begun at Lincoln Avenue and Devon Avenue and will continue northwest to Kostner Avenue. The rolling closures will occur between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The improvements are expected to be completed by fall of this year

For the 15th year in a row, law enforcement officers throughout Illinois will stake out Dunkin’ Donuts rooftops to support Special Olympics Illinois on Friday, May 19, beginning at 5 AM. Officers from the Lincolnwood Police Department will be on site at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 3946 W. Devon Avenue from 5:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Officers hope to raise awareness and donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.
Each guest who visits a Cop on a Rooftop location on May 19 and donates to the Torch Run will receive a free donut coupon. Guests donating at least $10 will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug (while supplies last) and a coupon for free medium coffee. Dunkin’ Donuts also has created a special glazed red and white donut ring called “the Champion” depicting Special Olympics Illinois colors for this special event.
Beginning on Wednesday, May 17 a portion of Central Park Avenue, near the former Union Pacific right-of-way will be closed to accommodate the installation of a new sewer pipe. The sewer is being installed as part of the ongoing construction of a public parking lot that will accommodate users of the new recreation path as well as businesses in the Northeast Industrial District. The road closure will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; the roadway will be open to traffic during the evening hours. The work requiring the closure is expected to last 2-3 days. Access to local business on Central Park Avenue will be maintained via Northeast Parkway. The map depicts the location of the closure and a suggested detour.
