35th Annual Lincolnwood Turkey Trot

Thank you to all who participated in the 2011 Lincolnwood Turkey Trot!  The event was a huge success!  We hope you enjoyed the experience and will be back for the race again in 2012!

 

Please check the Capstone Photography website by clicking the icon below.  Photos from the event should be posted wtihin the next week.  You will also be receiving an email with photos taken of you on the course.  What a fun way to document the 35th running of the Lincolnwood Turkey Trot! 

Lace up your running shoes and join us for the 35th annual Lincolnwood Turkey Trot!  This CARA Certified 5K/10K race and 5K fitness walk takes you through scenic Lincolnwood, featuring a flat, fast course perfect for novice as well as experienced runners and walkers.  For our youngest athletes (10 years of age and under), the Centennial Drumstick Dash will be the perfect way to round out this historic running event!

8:45am - 5K and 10K Runs
9am - 5K Fitness Walk
10:20am - Centennial Drumstick Dash

Entry Fees

5K and 10K Runs and Fitness Walk

  • $30 by November 4; $35 after November 4 and *Race Day

  • Centennial Drumstick Dash
  • $12 by November 4; $15 after November 4 and *Race Day

*Credit cards will not be accepted on Race Day; cash or check (made payable to Village of Lincolnwood) only.

Registration Options & Online Registration Directions

You may register in one of four ways for the Turkey Trot:  1) in person Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm in the Parks and Recreation Office (6900 N. Lincoln Avenue in Village Hall), 2) via fax (847) 673-4413, 3) via USPS (Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department, 6900 N. Lincoln Avenue, Lincolnwood, IL 60712), 4) online.

Online registration requires you to set up a household account if you haven't already done so.  Once you've created your account, sign in using your unique User ID and Password.  If you have an existing account but cannot remember your login information, please call (847) 677-9740 and we will retrieve the information for you.  Once you have successfully logged in to your household account, click on the Search tab at the top left side of the page, followed by Activity and finally Program Number where you will enter activity number:  309201.  This will bring you to a screen with all Turkey Trot registration options.  Select the activity you wish to participate in, and add it to your cart.  From here, you will proceed to the online waiver, registration questions and payment screen.

Packet Pick-Up

Race packets will be available for pick-up in the Parks and Recreation office located at 6900 N. Lincoln Avenue as follows:

    • Monday, November 14-Wednesday, November 16 from 9am-5pm
    • Thursday, November 17-Friday, November 18 from 9am-7pm
    • Saturday, November 19 from 9am-Noon

Prior to November 1, packets can be mailed for a fee of $7 per packet.  You must indicate you prefer this service on your registration form and include the appropriate mailing fee with your registration.  Registrations received after November 1 are not eligible for mailing.

Packets may also be picked up on Race Day from 6:30-8:45am under the Proesel Park Shelter, located at the corner of Kostner and Morse Avenues.

Age Divisions

9 years and under, 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70-79 years, 80 years and better

Awards

New for 2011 - moisture wicking long sleeve running shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered runners and walkers (Centennial Drumstick Dash participants receive a long sleeve cotton t-shirt).  Trophies awarded for 1st - 3rd place finishers in each age division, male and female, in each race.  Awards and turkeys are given to the top male and female Lincolnwood finisher in each race.  Awards are also given to each male and female overall winner in each race.

Don't Forget the Raffle!

Please bring a non-perishable food item to be included in the post-race raffle for a chance to win fabulous prizes!  All non-perishable food items and a portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Niles Township Food Pantry.  Get in the spirit and donate what you can to help those less fortunate in the area.

Volunteers Needed

Not a runner or walker?  Consider volunteering!  Volunteers are always needed for this community-wide event.  All volunteers will receive a long sleeve moisture wicking running shirt to thank them for their time and volunteer efforts.  Anyone interested in being a part of this year's race should contact Andy Thurman at (847) 677-9740 or athurman@lwd.org
