Touch - A - Truck
Put your imagination in gear and go! Youngsters and curious adults will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite big rig. A fire truck, police squad car, school bus, and many other vehicles will be on display for children to discover, explore, and sit inside. The event will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the Lincolnwood Town Center Mall parking lot located at the corner of Touhy Avenue and McCormick Avenue. Touch - A - Truck is free and open to the public.

Community Halloween Party
The 2010 Annual Community Halloween Party will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. through 5:30 P.M., rain or shine, near the Proesel Park Tennis Courts. The poem below describes the event:
Put on your costume, show us your smile! Stand in a line, remember, single file! Get a goodie bag filled with treats and toys. (children 12 and under) ‘Come and celebrate Halloween Joys! Proesel Park, October 31, is the place to be! For scarry good fun and Festivities!

Sticks for Kids Program
As a recrecipient of a grant from the Golf Course Builders Association of America and the National Recreation and Parks Association, the Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department was awarded ten sets of Junior Golf Clubs to create an introductory program for Lincolnwood residents ages 6 - 12 years. Instructional clinics will be available at no charge during the summer and fall in various parks. Schedules will be posted through our summer camp calendars and special event programs as well as through our online registration system. Registration is required for all free clinics. Additionally, the clubs will be a part of a loaner program by which a household adult may reserve up to two sets of clubs for children for a 24 hour period on weekdays and 48 hour period on weekends. Golf Equipment Loaner Applications must be completed in person at the Recreation Department Office during normal business hours. A photo ID is required as well as proof of Lincolnwood residency. The loaner program begins April 1, 2010 and runs through October 31, 2010.To compliment the program, Volunteer Opportunities are available for golfers who would be interested in assisting with clinics. Fridays for the Family
Lincolnwood Town Center has teamed with the Village of Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation for a series of family-oriented events focused on summer fun. Held on three Fridays throughout the summer, the “Fridays for the Family” events will be great opportunities to learn about sports and other recreational activities, as well as healthy eating.
