On November 6, 2008 the Village Board approved a comprehensive update to the Village's Zoning Code.  The new Code is effective immediately.  A Zoning Code is the key mechanism by which the Village defines how the Village will be developed.  It establishes the type of development that can occur (through zoning districts) and establishes certain characteristics required of new development (where on the site the building can be built, how high the building can be, the location of parking areas, etc.).

Please click on the highlighted link, Revised Zoning Code, to view the entire Code.  For easy viewing, we have created bookmarks for you to access particular portions of the Code.  Once you have accessed the Code, simply click on the "Bookmark" icon on the left side of the screen.  You can then navigate down the screen to the portion of the Code you are interested in, and you can click on the link for that section and you will be brought to that specific page.  Links have also been created on the Table of Contents.  Once you click a particular item on the Table of Contents, you will be brought directly to that page.

The Village had several goals in updating the Code: Create a more user-friendly document, update the regulations to more modern standards and to assist in guiding development to meet the current vision the Village Board has established for new development in the Village.
