Outdoor Facilities

There are various outdoor facilities in Proesel Park that are available to rent to groups or individuals. Rental permit applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and the application, fee, deposit (if applicable), along with any other documents listed below must be submitted in person at the Parks and Recreation office in Village Hall. Proesel Park Picnic Shelter

Interested in renting the Proesel Park Picnic Shelter? Rentals for Lincolnwood residents will begin on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Parks and Recreation office in Village Hall. The doors at Village Hall will open on Monday, April 3 at 8:30am, and rentals will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Renters must bring proof of Lincolnwood residency, as well as payment and refundable security deposit in full.

Non-residents will have the opportunity to rent the shelter beginning June 1. See non-resident rate below.

From the first weekend in June through the end of October, the Henry A. Proesel Park Picnic Shelter at 6915 Kostner Avenue, is available for rental for groups of up to 150 people.

Shelter Rental Permit Flat Fee: $200 (Resident) / $250 (Non-Resident)

Rental applications will be accepted in person on a first-come, first served basis at the Parks and Recreation office.

Rental requirements are as follows:

  • Permits are issued to Lincolnwood residents, affiliated programs, businesses or organizations within the Village; Lincolnwood resident or business owner must be present at all times and is responsible for any damages associated with the rental.
  • Businesses, groups, and outside organizations must furnish a copy of business license with Lincolnwood address and certificate of insurance naming the Village of Lincolnwood additionally insured (specifics listed on picnic permit application).
  • Applicant must bring a copy of completed application and proof of residency (drivers license, state ID, mortgage title or utility bill) in person to the Parks and Recreation office in Village Hall.
  • A copy of the permit must be carried at all times and shown upon request.
  • Permit holders are only entitled to the number of picnic tables and grills listed on the approved permit.
  • Maximum occupancy is 150. Groups exceeding 150 persons will need prior approval from the Park and Recreation Board. A written citation will be given to groups exceeding 150 persons without proper approval.
  • A $250 refundable security deposit is required when submitting an application. This deposit will be returned within 10 business days pending a damage assessment following the rental. Permit fees must be paid at the time of application and are non-transferable.

Party Tent

Party Tent Rental Flat Fee: $125

The 40′ x 40′ tent is located near the entrance to the Proesel Park Family Aquatic Center, and is a great alternative to the shelter for smaller gatherings for groups of 50 people or less. The party tent comes furnished with picnic tables and access to the restrooms at the concession stand. Permits are available in the Parks and Recreation Department beginning April 2 for dates from June 1 – September 2.

  • Permits are issued to Lincolnwood residents, affiliated programs, businesses or organizations within the Village; Lincolnwood resident or business owner must be present at all times and is responsible for any damages associated with the rental.

Baseball/Softball Fields

Hourly Baseball/Softball Field Rental Fee: R$40/NR$75 (no lights) | R$60/NR$100 (w/lights)

There are four fields available for rental in Proesel Park. Baseball/softball field rental permits are available beginning April 4 in the Parks and Recreation Department for dates from April 4 – October 31.

  • Rentals are hourly
  • A $250 refundable security deposit is required when submitting an application. This deposit will be returned within 10 business days pending a damage assessment following the rental. Permit fees must be paid at the time of application and are non-transferable.

Soccer Field

Hourly Soccer Field Rental Fee: R$15/R$20 (no lights) | R$30/NR$40 (w/lights)

The soccer field in Proesel park is located near the Lincolnwood Fire Station. Soccer field rental permits are available beginning April 4 in the Parks and Recreation Department for dates from May 1 – October 31.

  • Rentals are hourly with a required minimum rental of 4 hours per day
  • A $250 refundable security deposit is required when submitting an application. This deposit will be returned within 10 business days pending a damage assessment following the rental. Permit fees must be paid at the time of application and are non-transferable.

Tennis Court Rentals

Residents can rent permanent court time of their choice for rental fee of $15 an hour April – October.

Village sponsored events, tennis lessons offered through Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation, and Lincolnwood Tennis Club reservations have first priority (see schedule posted in tennis box on fence near entrance). Rack-up system prevails when courts are not reserved.

Tennis Club

The Lincolnwood Tennis Club is open to all Lincolnwood residents age 18 and over. For an annual fee of $60, members have the opportunity to reserve court time at Proesel, Flowers and Central Parks by phone two days in advance without paying the hourly advance reservation rate. A Tennis Club member must be on the court during reserved time. May 1 – September 1. Reservation Call in hours are 9am-3pm at 847-677-9740.

Tennis Lessons

Tennis lessons on Lincolnwood public tennis courts are provided by Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation only. Unauthorized lessons are not allowed on public courts. Register for tennis lessons.

Volleyball Courts

Volleyball Court Rental Flat Fee: $60 per day

There are two regulation-sized sand volleyball courts for rental in Proesel Park near the shelter. Volleyball court rental permits are available beginning April 4 in the Parks and Recreation Department for dates from May 4 – October 31.

  • Rentals are daily
  • A $250 refundable security deposit is required when submitting an application. This deposit will be returned within 10 business days pending a damage assessment following the rental. Permit fees must be paid at the time of application and are non-transferable.

Refund Policy for All Rentals

If a rental is canceled two weeks before the scheduled date, a full refund will be issued less a 10% administrative fee. If a rental is canceled with less than a two week notice, a 50% refund will be issued less a 10% administrative fee.

A copy of the Park and Athletic Field Rules and Regulations will be given to all permit applicants. Failure to comply with the rules/ordinances shall be deemed cause for immediate void of permit, written citation, forfeited security deposit and may be cause for denial of subsequent permits.
