Get Ready for the 40th Annual Lincolnwood Turkey Trot – Sunday, November 20, 2016
Lace up your running shoes and join us for the 40th annual Lincolnwood Turkey Trot (1976-2016)! This CARA Certified, chip-timed 5K/10K race and 5K fitness walk takes you through scenic Lincolnwood, featuring a flat, fast course perfect for novice as well as experienced runners and walkers. For our youngest athletes (10 years of age and under), the Drumstick Dash is the perfect way to round out this historic running event!

9 years and under, 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70-79 years, 80 years+
All pre-registered runners and walkers will receive a dark blue moisture-wicking long-sleeve running shirt. Please note: All adult shirts will be men’s sizes; ladies, you may want to size down. NEW TURKEY TROT FINISHER MEDALS will also be awarded to all registered runners and walkers who cross the finish line. Top race finishers will also receive an award medal, new for 2015!
Race medals (new this year!) will be awarded for 1st – 3rd place finishers in each age division, male and female, in each race. Awards will be given to the top male and female Lincolnwood finisher in each race, and to each male and female overall winner in each race.
A portion of the Turkey Trot proceeds are donated to the Niles Township Food Pantry which serves approximately 3,500 individuals a month. As part of our commitment to the food pantry, we also encourage you to donate a non-perishable food item on race day to be entered into the post-race raffle for a chance to win terrific prizes.
Please bring a non-perishable food item to be included in the post-race raffle for a chance to win fabulous prizes! All non-perishable food items and a portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Niles Township Food Pantry. Get in the spirit and donate what you can to help those less fortunate in the area!
Calling all Kids 10 & under – lace up and join us for the Lincolnwood Turkey Trot Drumstick Dash 50 or 100 yard dash! Children will be ground in heats according to age. All pre-registered racers are guaranteed a long sleeve cotton t-shirt, finisher medal and goody bag & kids can grab a selfie with the famous Turkey Trot mascot after the race! The Drumstick Dash starts at 10:20am. $12 by Nov. 6 at 5pm or $15 after Nov. 6 and on race day.
Free parking is available in the Republic Bank (4433 W. Touhy Ave), Garcia, Rosenberg and Associates Primary Care, (7126 N. Lincoln Ave). and Lincolnwood Produce (7175 N. Lincoln Ave). parking lots and on side streets that are not on the race route, and where parking restrictions are not listed. Please note: parking is prohibited Lincoln, Morse, and Kostner Avenues. Also, please DO NOT park at L. Woods Restaurant.
When will I receive my finisher medal? Runners and walkers will receive their Turkey Trot finisher medal when they cross the finish line. Medals will only be given to those who finish their event.
Will the race be cancelled for any reason? No, like the USPS we go on rain or shine (or freezing temps). Per our policy, we do not allow refunds.
How should I dress for the weather? Please check the forecast and dress warmly. We highly suggest multiple layers, hats, gloves and a neck gaiter.
Will gear check be available? Yes, you can safely check your gear in the Packet Pickup area.
Are their any rest stops along the course? Yes, on the 10K race, you are welcome to stop at the BP station on Pratt & Cicero “the official rest stop of the Turkey Trot” during the race.
If I am a 1st-3rd place winner in my category, when will I receive my medal? We do not give out medals on race day. Race winners will be contacted after the race to let them know how they can receive their medal.
Are strollers allowed on the course? Yes, you can run or walk with a stroller as long as you start at the back of the pack.
What about other wheeled vehicles? For safety reasons, bicycles, skates, scooters, other wheeled personal vehicles are NOT allowed on the racing course.
Are dogs (or other animals) allowed on the course? No, for safety reasons, we can’t allow animals on the course. Please leave your pets (including turkeys) at home.
Can participants wear costumes? Absolutely! Dressing up is definitely a fun part of this race. Participants are HIGHLY encouraged to dress up. Of course, you’re not limited to turkeys — we welcome all crazy outfits!
