Parks and Recreation Giving Tuesday Campaign

Giving Tuesday Website News Flash

The Village of Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department has launched a Giving Tuesday Campaign. The launch of the campaign was inspired by a very generous donation in 2022 of $1 million to the Parks and Recreation Department for projects/improvements from Barry and Taffy Berger (Berger Family Charitable Foundation). The Berger's have committed to donating $100,000 each year on Giving Tuesday over the next 9 years ending in 2031. Barry Berger was born and raised in the Village of Lincolnwood were he has fond memories of attending Lincoln Hall, Niles West and Parks and Recreation Summer Camps. The priorities for the Berger family donation include: installation of accessible play equipment at Village playgrounds, installation of accessible surfacing a village playgrounds, installation of accessible splashpad at a Village park, summer camp experiences and equipment, scholarship fund for summer camp. In an effort to expand on the generous donation from the Berger Family, the Parks and Recreation Department is launching the Giving Tuesday Campaign that will focus on swim lessons, family pool pass assistance, older adult activities, send a kid to summer camp, accessible playground equipment, contributions of donors choice. The Berger Family hopes that their donation to Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department will inspire others to do the same. Please visit the Parks and Recreation page for more details. Thank you
