Central Avenue south of Pratt Avenue (City of Chicago) is closed to south bound traffic due to a sewer replacement project from the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). The project was originally slated to begin in mid-July but has commenced this week. Road closure signs have been placed in the area to divert traffic to Cicero Avenue for eastbound Pratt Avenue from Central Avenue and from westbound Pratt Avenue traffic, east of Cicero Avenue. Several residential streets between Central and Cicero Avenues along Pratt Avenue have signs prohibiting turns from the eastbound detoured traffic and only allowing local traffic into the residential neighborhood.
The project is expected to last approximately 4-6 weeks in total.
