Why is the Aquatic Center open to both residents and non-residents? With capacity limits, shouldn’t the Aquatic Center be open to only residents this summer?

Several options where considered when planning for the 2021 summer season. Overall policy decisions such as the sale of resident and non-resident season passes, as well as potential benefits and impacts of various options were thoroughly assessed over the past several months by the Parks and Recreation Department, the Parks and Recreation Board, and the Village Board. A determination on how to proceed was made with great consideration for the average number of community members that typically visit the pool on a daily basis compared to the availability of time slots, common practices and guidelines during the pandemic, and the impact of various pass type sales on the overall facility operation.

The Parks and Recreation Department greatly appreciates the continued support of residents as these plans have been developed. We are also grateful to the many families who consider our parks, camps, and aquatic center an extension of their community during the summer months. Our team is excited to serve the community through the provision of recreational swim opportunities this summer.
