The Illinois Housing Development Authority’s (IHDA) Emergency Rental Assistance program will provide $150 million in emergency assistance to renters across the state of Illinois. The IHDA estimates that approximately 30,000 will be able to receive rental assistance across Illinois. Applicants may receive up to $5,000.
The application for the Emergency Rental Assistance will open on August 10 and remain open until August 21. However, if the number of applicants reaches a certain threshold, the application may close before August 21.
