FUNdamental Care

What is Lincolnwood FUNdamental Care?

FUNdamental Care is a program that has been planned and organized in accordance with CDC and state guidelines.  While we can’t provide the same experience as a traditional summer camp, we are excited to provide a safe and fun alternative option for care. Several fun activities that incorporate social distancing requirements will take place during the FUNdamental Care program. Each day, the program will follow a similar schedule:

  • Drop Off & Daily Announcements: Wake Up Activities
  • Creative and Craft Time
  • Fitness
  • STEAM
  • Lunch
  • Field Games
  • Social Distance Team Building
  • Wind Down Activities and Pick Up

FUNdamental Care will take place outdoors in Proesel Park and in the Proesel Park Shelter. In the event of inclement weather, the program will move indoors to the Community Center.

Children will be placed in assigned groups of 10:2 child to staff ratio. Groups will include mixed aged children with siblings placed in the same group. Due to program hours, there will be two shifts of dedicated staff throughout the week per group. To avoid mixing groups, we will do our best to keep the children and staff in the same groups each week.  Staff will be required to complete health screening prior to each day of the program.

Pick up and drop off will be scheduled in vehicles alongside Morse Ave. near the Community Center. At drop off, staff will retrieve children from vehicles while doing a health screen prior to entering the program. At pick up, children will be brought to the parents with staff assistance. Parents should not leave their vehicles.

Face masks must be worn in accordance with the state executive order when social distancing cannot be maintained. Exceptions are when eating and when outside and able to maintain a safe social distance. Children, parents and staff are required to wear masks at pick up and drop off. Children will engage in activities while maintaining a safe social distance of 6 feet.  Each group will maintain 30 feet social distancing. Individual supplies will be provided to each child and shared supplies will be sanitized between each child’s use.

Please note: FUNdamental Care is not a summer day camp and does not include traditional day camp activities such as field trips and swimming. We hope that this fun and safe alternative to camp will meet your summer needs!
