In response to the national attention on lead in drinking water and to ensure the safety of the public, the Village has proactively tested all 16 drinking fountains in the parks owned by the Village. As a result of this testing, elevated levels of lead were found in the water fountains at Columbia Park, O’Brien Park, Kildare Park, and Rossi Park. To protect the health and safety of the public, the Village has shut down the affected fountains until the service lines are replaced. It is expected that this work will be completed by mid-July.
