Lincolnwood Public Works Director Andrew Letson Accepts Position as Meeker County, MN County Administrator

Andrew Letson, Lincolnwood’s Public Works Director, has announced that he has accepted the position of County Administrator for Meeker County, Minnesota and will be leaving the Village on December 18, 2020.

Mr. Letson has been with the Village since 2015, having served Northbrook for almost three years as the Management Analyst for Public Works prior to joining Lincolnwood. Mr. Letson began his career in Lincolnwood as the Assistant to the Public Works Director and began serving as the Public Works Director Village in 2016, a role he has maintained and excelled at during his time with the Village. During his time with the Village, he has overseen numerous projects on behalf of the community. Items of note included the development and implementation of a comprehensive infrastructure plan to update roads and water mains. This project will continue using the schedule and structure setup by Mr. Letson in his time with the Village and will serve as a roadmap as the Village upgrades the existing roadways and water mains. Mr. Letson has been instrumental in the Village’s recent conversion to Evanston for potable water. Mr. Letson assisted with the evaluation of potential providers, negotiation with Evanston, and implementing the Village’s plan to get potable water from Evanston and transitioned away from the City of Chicago.

Mr. Letson has been a constant team player in providing support to Village operations. Through Mr. Letson’s leadership the Public Works Department has provided support to other Departments in the form of reviews of potential developments, such as the District 1860 Site, at Development Review Team meetings and spearheading capital projects for other Departments such as a firearms range for the Police Department and installing building enhancements in response to COVID-19. While Mr. Letson has been invaluable to the Public Works Department, he continued to be a team player most recently in 2020 where he served concurrently as the Public Works Director and Acting Parks and Recreation Director for a number of months.

Upon hearing of Mr. Letson’s acceptance of the position of County Administrator, Village Manager Anne Marie Gaura stated, “Andrew has been the consummate professional and team player. His knowledge and positive attitude will be sorely missed. The residents of Meeker County are lucky to have Andrew as their next Administrator. I wish him and his family the best of luck as they continue their journey in Minnesota.”

Mr. Letson stated, “I have greatly enjoyed the chance to work with so many wonderful community volunteers, elected officials, and staff. I am very proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together over the past six years. While I look forward to serving as the County Administrator with Meeker County and have the opportunity to live closer to family, Lincolnwood will always have a special place in my heart.”

The Village of Lincolnwood wishes Andrew Letson well as he begins with Meeker County in the coming weeks.
