The Illinois Housing Development Authority’s (IHDA) Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program was developed to support Illinois homeowners unable to pay their mortgages due to a COVID-19 related loss of income. The IHDA estimates that approximately 10,000 homeowners will be able to receive funding across Illinois. Applicants may receive up to $15,000.
The application for the Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program will open on August 24 and remain open until September 4. However, if the number of applicants reaches a certain threshold, the application may close before September 4.
