The Federal Drug Enforcement Agency is sponsoring a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. As a part of the campaign, the Police Department will be accepting prescription medications in the medication drop off box located in the department’s vestibule. This program offers a safe, convenient means of disposing unwanted or expired prescription medications (please note, only drugs in pill form will be accepted – no liquids, patches, etc). If you have needles or sharps to turn over you will need to use the phone in the vestibule to contact the Fire Department. If the Fire Department is unavailable a member of the Police Department will assist with disposing of the needles or sharps. Please empty all drugs from their original containers, bottles or blister packs and place in a sealed baggie for drop off.
