The Village of Lincolnwood has issued a Village-wide public water supply boil order. The Village Pump House experienced intermittent electrical issues the morning of June 13, 2019, which caused the water pumps that supply and maintain system pressure to temporarily shut off. The cause of the outage is under investigation and water has been restored as of approximately 6:45 a.m. ComEd has been notified and is dispatching a crew to identify the source of the issue.
As a result of the power outage, the Village’s water distribution system fell below the permissible pressure set by the EPA. Village water customers should boil water used for culinary and drinking purposes for at least five minutes before using. The BOIL ORDER will remain in effect until laboratory testing confirms the water quality has been fully restored. This will be late in the morning on Friday, June 14th at the earliest.
