The Village of Lincolnwood is currently evaluating the demand for creating a new public bus route potentially operated by the Village to serve Lincolnwood residents. The Village is currently served by three Pace bus routes that link Lincolnwood to the Chicago area as shown in the map below. Information on the routes serviced by Pace in Lincolnwood can be found by clicking on the links here for Route 210, Route 226, and Route 290. Additionally, the Village is connected to Chicago on the east side of Lincolnwood by the Devon-Kedzie stop which is serviced by CTA Route 11, Route 54A, Route 82, Route 96, and Route 155. On the west side of Lincolnwood is the Edgebrook Metra Station along the Milwaukee District / North Line near the intersection of Central and Devon Avenues in Chicago.
Mass Transit Routes in Lincolnwood
There are still many issues that need to be addressed as Lincolnwood evaluates the feasibility of a Village-sponsored bus route to service the community. The Village is seeking your input on creating a bus route that will operate along Devon Avenue between the Devon-Kedzie stop and Edgebrook Metra Station, along with other transportation opportunities in the Village. To this end, a survey was provided in 2014 to gauge community interest in a bus route in Lincolnwood.
In addition to the proposed Pace bus route there are other mass transit options available to Village residents in the form of the Subsidized Taxi Program and the Pace Ride Share Program. Information on these programs can be found below:
Subsidized Taxi Program
The Village and the Niles Township also offer the Subsidized Taxi Program. The Subsidized Taxi Program is available to Lincolnwood residents and Lincolnwood Social Club members who are at least 55 years of age and pay the $25 annual registration fee. To learn more about this program, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (847) 677-9740.
Pace Ride Share Program
Commuters in Lincolnwood may also be interested in the Pace Ride Share Program. The Ride Share program allows residents to commute to work together in a vanpool program for a low monthly rate.
