Proesel Park features the Village’s largest playground, which was installed in 1999 and has been enjoyed by many children for nearly twenty years. As part of the Village’s playground replacement program, the existing equipment is scheduled for replacement in 2019.
Construction & New Equipment Installation (March 11, 2019 – April 30, 2019)
The play area will be closed and surrounded with construction fencing on Monday, March 11, 2019. The new playground will open at the beginning of May 2019 (weather dependent). Community members are invited to enjoy the equipment and kick off this summer’s Play Dates in the Park with us at the NEW Proesel Park Playground on Sunday, May 19 at 1pm!
Playground Closed, Existing Equipment Removal & Donation to Kids Around the World (March 11, 2019)
Equipment Selection & Construction Bid Process (Completed February 2019)
Pick The Next Proesel Park Playground (Completed November 28, 2018)
Residents are invited again to provide input on the Proesel Park playground replacement project. During this meeting, the playground equipment concept designs will be displayed to receive feedback via surveys and comment cards from the community. Families are encouraged to bring children and family members of all ages.
Community Brainstorm Session I (Completed October 25, 2018)
Residents are invited to provide input on the Proesel Park playground replacement project during this initial Community Brainstorm Session. Those interested in participating in the playground design process are highly encouraged to attend this kick-off meeting at the Lincolnwood Community Center on Thursday, October 25 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
This meeting will serve as the first step in the playground design process and will provide community members an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about the playground prior to concept designs being developed. As part of the meeting, we will review the current park conditions and equipment, and gather input via comment cards, surveys, and an interactive exercise.
The Village understands that most people don’t use the playground alone, so please feel free to bring the entire family to this open-house style meeting. The feedback received during this meeting will guide the development of three potential playground concept plans, which will then be debuted during a second meeting tentatively scheduled for the last week of November.
