This year, the Village of Lincolnwood highly discourages Trick-or-Treating due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and will not be posting official Halloween Trick-or-Treating hours.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) determined that traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating is a higher-risk activity and recommended that individuals and families avoid higher-risk activities as much as possible. The CDC’s recommendation can be found on their website linked here. The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) indicates that the safest way to celebrate Halloween is at home. The IDPH’s guidance can be found on their website linked here.
The safety of Lincolnwood’s residents is of the utmost importance to the Village. Based on this and the guidance released from the CDC and IDPH, the Village determined that strongly discouraging Trick-or-Treating is the safest option for our community.
