On Tuesday, September 3 the Village Board approved a contract with Reliable Contracting and Equipment Co. of Chicago, Illinois for construction of the water transmission main project in the amount of $11,826,493. The awarded contract includes all of the work required to connect the Village’s water system with the City of Evanston’s water system. Additionally, aging water distribution mains along Hamlin Avenue, Springfield Avenue and Arthur Avenue will be replaced and the roads along the project route will be resurfaced.

A public information meeting will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m., which will provide residents with an opportunity to meet the contractor and learn more about what to expect during construction. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at the Lincolnwood Village Hall, located at 6900 N. Lincoln Avenue.
Construction is anticipated to start on Monday, September 16 and will begin at the southern end of the project route near the Village’s pumping station at the intersection of Crawford and Schreiber Avenues. Construction of the underground utilities is expected to be completed by July 2, 2020 with all restoration completed by October 2, 2020. As the work progresses, a construction notice will be hand delivered in advance of work beginning in an area.
